2 OR 3 CHURCH ONLY EXISTS IT CYBERSPACE. IT DOESN'T HAVE AN ADDRESS, A MEETING PLACE, AN OFFICE OR A CAR PARK. YOU CAN'T GO THERE, YOU HAVE TO LIVE IT.
IF YOU NO LONGER GO TO CHURCH BUT YOU ARE A SINCERE CHRISTIAN, THEN BY DEFINITION PLEASE CONSIDER YOURSELF PART OF THIS CHURCH.
I CREATED 2 OR 3 CHURCH TO REPRESENT WHAT SEEMS TO HAVE BECOME A COMMON CHRISTIAN LIFESTYLE.
THERE ARE MANY LIKE MYSELF WHO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND OTHER CHRISTIANS BUT NO LONGER GO TO CHURCH. THIS INTERNET CHURCH IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE A LOOSE CONNECTION, A FORUM FOR DISCUSSION AND A SAMPLE LIFESTYLE. AFTER READING WHAT FOLLOWS YOU MAY CHOOSE TO DESCRIBE YOURSELF AS A ‘2 OR 3 CHRISTIAN’.
Spending quality time and making quality connection with other Christians is one of the most wonderful things about being a believer. We share the same Spirit. There is a connection that is unspoken, unique, spiritual. You can’t find it by joining a club, playing sport or going to a party.
I don’t think God minds a ‘me and God’ existence (I am sure he prefers it to evil or atheism) but He seems to encourage relationship, love, goodness. It is who He is and I think He is keen to share the experience. We may not go to church (sometimes we do) but this doesn't mean that we don't encourage each other to get together with other christians. We simply believe God is gracious enough and doesn't mind if we do it differently.
HOW MIGHT A 2 OR 3 CHRISTIAN LIVESTYLE LOOK?......
You might meet with a christian friend (churchgoers included), 2 or 3 friends, sometimes more. You meet anywhere, coffee, walking, over a meal, fishing, helping someone fix a house or going to a church meeting. You name it. Just get together. It's as laid back or organized as you want to make it. You may not be going to church in the traditional manner but you are doing church or being the church.
When you meet you make it your habit to talk about the Lord, His goodness, your relationship with Him and how He is involved in your lives. You encourage each other and when possible you pray together. You acknowledge that He is with you and that you are meeting because of His love for you and your love for each other.
Jesus said "When two or three get together in my name, I will be there with them."
Basic Tenets of Faith:
Do you believe Jesus is who He said He is? That He died to give you forgiveness, a spiritual birth and direct access to His Father in heaven? When you meet with other christians are you happy to break bread and share red wine or similar to remember Him? Do you love God through prayer and acts of kindness toward others?
